Proof, not promises
Live dwell-time and attention figures sit in the hero, not buried in a deck advertisers never read.
Case study · Out-of-home media

Strata Ad runs camera-mounted advertising boards across UK city centres. The screens were in front of people — but an impression is not a measure. We built the bespoke platform that turns their network into real-time audience intelligence: who passed, how long they dwelled, and what it means for an advertiser justifying spend.

The situation
The data existed in the physical world. The system to capture it didn't.
The hardware worked. The screens ran. The impressions happened. But Strata Ad couldn't tell an advertiser how many people passed, for how long, in what context — or what any of it meant for the spend.
Digital advertising has always had measurement. Outdoor never has. That was the brief.
The public experience
StrataAd's public website is live at strataad.co.uk: a clear proposition, a live dashboard preview showing dwell time and attention in real time, and a direct route from “interested” to a booked slot — built to sell the platform, not just describe it.

Live dwell-time and attention figures sit in the hero, not buried in a deck advertisers never read.
A direct “Book a slot” path turns interest into a calendar hold without a sales call in between.
The site is structured to carry the network story, evidence and advertiser journey as the board network grows.
Every board is now a live data node. Camera units stream environmental and footfall activity continuously into one central pipeline — synchronised, standardised across diverse hardware, and resilient. If a node drops, the system recovers it automatically and backfills the gap.
The network behaves as one thing, even when the hardware doesn't.

Processing pipeline · sustained load
Raw camera data at scale is noisy — motion artefacts, duplicates, environmental interference. The processing layer ingests and cleans continuously, aggregates behaviour across time windows and locations, and holds its latency under sustained peak load. Not batch processing with a lag — continuous, clean and fast.
Scale without losing data fidelity.
This is the part that changes what Strata Ad can sell. The system doesn't just count footfall — it interprets it. An advertiser can now understand not just how many people passed a screen, but how those people behaved in front of it. That's a different product category entirely.

Placement comparison
Evidence-based placement, format by format
A system drinking from multiple live camera feeds can't afford downtime, so the architecture assumes failure: asynchronous pipelines stop any bottleneck propagating, load spreads across processing nodes, and failover keeps the stream alive. And because ingestion, processing and analytics are separated by design, new boards — or new cities — join the network without a redesign.
The constraint wasn't "works most of the time." It was "doesn't stop."

The outcome
For advertisers
evidence-based placement decisions instead of footfall estimates
For Strata Ad
a product that justifies premium pricing with real measurement
For the network
reliable, scalable processing that doesn't stop
For the category
the measurement outdoor advertising never had
The screens were always there. Now the data is too. Network figures are measured and client-approved before publication — we'll walk through them on the call.
