Cookie Policy
This policy explains cookies and similar technologies used by ROCKMOUNTAI LTD, trading as Rockmount AI. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information a website asks your browser to store and send back with later requests. They can support functions such as keeping an account signed in. Browser storage technologies can also be used for similar purposes.
Cookies used by this application
We do not use cookies for advertising or optional analytics. The scanner, account authentication and administrator area use cookies to provide and protect the services you choose to use:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | When used |
|---|---|---|---|
Clerk authentication cookies (for example, __session) | Maintain your sign-in session and support account security. Clerk manages these cookies and their settings. | Depends on the session and authentication configuration. | When you create an account, sign in or use account features. |
rm_scanner_guest | Holds a signed random scanner identifier so your two free scans and recent reports remain associated with this browser. It does not contain your IP address or report contents. | Up to 365 days. | When you open the scanner without signing in. Only sent to its scanner API. |
rm_admin | Stores a signed administrator session token. It does not contain the administrator password. | Up to 12 hours; cleared when the administrator signs out. | After successful administrator login. |
| Rockmount course progress (browser local storage) | Saves lesson completion, practice choices and course worksheet fields on your device. It is not sent to Rockmount and can be reset in the course. | Until you reset progress or clear this browser's site storage. | When you open the interactive course. |
The scanner cookie is first-party and, on the live site, marked Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax. Its free-scan allowance is also checked against a server-side hashed network record shared by guest and signed-in free scans; creating an account on the same network does not reset it. The administrator cookie is first-party and marked Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict. Clerk configures its authentication cookies to support sign-in and session security; their exact names, lifetime and browser flags can depend on environment and sign-in configuration. For current details, see Clerk's cookie documentation. These cookies are not used for advertising.
Analytics and similar technologies
We do not install Google Analytics, advertising pixels or third-party marketing trackers. When you use an enquiry button, our server can record the page, the button used and your browser user agent. This measurement uses a request to our own server, not an analytics cookie. Abuse prevention also uses an HMAC-hashed IP fingerprint. Cookie-free processing can still involve personal data; our Privacy Policy explains the purposes and retention.
Hosting and external websites
Vercel provides website hosting and may process request information to deliver and protect the site. External websites linked from our portfolio have their own cookie policies, which apply when you visit them.
Do I need to accept cookies?
We do not currently offer optional analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no optional-cookie consent choice to make on this site. The scanner cookie supports the free scanner you request; authentication cookies support account and administrator services you choose to use. If we introduce non-essential storage or tracking that requires consent, we will provide controls before activating it and update this policy.
How to control cookies
You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the scanner cookie prevents guest scans and access to guest reports. Deleting it does not reset the server-side network allowance. Blocking authentication cookies signs you out or prevents account features from working; it does not prevent you reading public pages. Administrators can also use the sign-out button to clear their session cookie.
